Recently, the Hurun Research Institute released the 2024 Global Unicorn Index. The list includes a total of 1,453 companies worldwide, with 340 Chinese unicorns ranking second globally, primarily in "hard-tech" sectors such as intelligent manufacturing and energy & power. Shenzhen contributed 34 companies to the list, with Maxphotonics Laser being the only laser industry enterprise honored.
In recent years, unicorn companies—known for their strong innovation capabilities and immense growth potential—have become a vital force in driving China's new economy and fostering new growth engines, serving as exemplary representatives of new quality productive forces.
With their powerful innovation and market potential, unicorn enterprises play a key role in advancing economic transformation and industrial upgrading. Particularly in the context of accelerating the development of new quality productive forces, these companies lead technological and business model innovations, speeding up the digital and intelligent transformation of the economy and society, and making irreplaceable contributions to enhancing China's comprehensive national strength. Maxphotonics Laser's inclusion in the list is a strong testament to its technological innovation capabilities and reflects Hurun Research Institute's confidence in its future prospects.
After two decades of relentless effort, Maxphotonics Laser has built a solid technical foundation and a strong market reputation, achieving remarkable results in both business development and technological innovation. As a technology-driven enterprise, Maxphotonics Laser understands that innovation is the cornerstone of long-term growth. The company has consistently invested heavily in R&D, continuously advancing laser technology and product upgrades, leading the direction of China's laser industry.
Today, Maxphotonics Laser has not only achieved vertical integration in two core technologies—laser systems and optical core components—but also possesses the capability to 100% independently research and manufacture core components. Multiple technologies have reached industry-leading standards, with 580+ domestic and international patents. Particularly in the ultra-high-power fiber laser sector, Maxphotonics has achieved comprehensive global competitiveness. Its multi-kilowatt fiber laser products have repeatedly set industry records, making outstanding contributions to the localization of fiber lasers and serving as a key driver of China's laser technology innovation and development. Moving forward, Maxphotonics Laser will continue to deepen its expertise in laser technology, strengthen innovation, enhance China's core laser technology competitiveness, and lead Chinese lasers onto the global stage.

Backed by its technological prowess, Maxphotonics Laser has experienced rapid growth, with its industrial scale expanding significantly. Recently, the company's Phase II project in Suzhou Industrial Park completed construction and registration, achieving "registration upon completion." The project covers 20 acres with a total investment of 700 million RMB and a construction area of 70,251 square meters. Upon completion, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 15,320 continuous fiber lasers, 12,400 direct semiconductor lasers, and 8,270 quasi-continuous fiber lasers.
The Yangtze River Delta is one of China's most important laser industry hubs. As Maxphotonics Laser's East China headquarters, the Suzhou Industrial Park integrates production, R&D, and service capabilities, allowing the company to better meet the needs of local customers. It also serves as a model for collaboration within the regional laser industry supply chain. Leveraging the Yangtze River Delta's talent advantages, Maxphotonics Laser enhances its R&D capabilities for laser products and core optical components, further strengthening its overall industry competitiveness.
Since establishing operations in Suzhou, Maxphotonics Laser has achieved remarkable milestones under the support of the Suzhou municipal, district, and town governments. It has become a leading enterprise in Suzhou's Xiangcheng District, representing high-end intelligent equipment and laser manufacturing. The Phase I project (70,000 sqm) officially commenced production in December 2020. With the completion of Phase II, Maxphotonics Laser's production capacity will further increase, better meeting the demands of China's laser equipment market and driving laser technology to empower more manufacturing industries.
